Return to Vegas

Ang and I have been talking for a few weeks about trying to head out to Vegas before November. Talk is cheap, so we both have been actively looking for a decent deal without much luck. Last night, the girl who cuts my hair had the fantastic suggestion of trying to book dates for the middle of the week. Well, why the fuck didn't I think of that before? Sure enough, leaving on a Wednesday, and returning on a Friday knocked over $150 per person off of the best deals we'd seen. So we're booked for the middle of October. We leave on a Wednesday morning and return late Friday night. Airfare and two nights at Circus Circus for $250 per person. Yeah, Circus Circus isn't exactly the Bellagio, but it's on the strip, it's CHEAP, and it's not like we'll be hanging out there much. The night we arrive, we're going to see Cirque du Soleil's Mystère at Treasure Island. I saw O at the Bellagio a few years back, and while this one isn't quite as elaborate, I hear tell that it's good. I should have bought tickets for their Zumanity show though. I heard there are painted titties in it. I hear a lot of things.

I just looked at the Zumanity site and cannot figure out why you didn't pick that one!
I didn't want to get boner and knock the plate of nachos out of my lap when I ordered the tickets.
Are you two really commenting to each other on your own blog?
Anywho, Alyssa and I saw Mystere the last time we were in Vegas, and it was awesome. A fantastic spectacle, and well worth the money. Enjoy! And place a blackjack wager for me.

Jason, yes that is what we are doing. To be fair, we were not in the same room. This time.
I saw Mystere about 5 years ago and it was fantastic. I've seen 3? Cirque shows and they have all been great, but the one time I saw them here, they didn't have the contortionists. They were in the program but didn't perform. I was PISSED. I really like all the other stuff, but watching those 12 year old chinese kids sit on their own heads... that is what I'm paying for.
For better or worse I've been spending some time in Vegas recently. Personally, Vegas is a 72 time bomb. The first 24 hours is usually over the top; the next 24 is in a weird state of recovery; the next 24 are like the first 24; and then you notice how ten years of your life could be over without you even knowing it.
