Eye zapper

LASIK
After years of kinda sorta maybe possibly considering thinking about it, I made an appointment for an evaluation exam for lasik eye surgery. I'm mucho nearsighted and alternate between wearing glasses and contacts. In recent years, my contacts have started irritating my eyes to the point I can't wear them more than a day or two in a stretch. I received a pamphlet in the mail from Lasik Plus, filled in and mailed a reply card for a free evaluation exam, and they called to schedule the appointment tonight. Maybe I should have done more research before bothering to make this appointment. I went to their website--is it just me, or does it look kind of hokey? Looks like the website a spammer would put together to look semi-professional and trick people into buying fake "V1@gR@" and "C1@L15" at bargain basement prices. Anyone out there had laser vision correction surgery in the Twin Cities area or know of someone who has? Have any recommendations? Places to stay away from? Is this Lasik Plus outfit some fly by night operation that charges you 4 large, shines a laser pointer in your eye, and gives you an expired bottle of Visine, or are they the real deal? My eyes well with anticipation.

I would definately recommend it. With minimal pain, LASIK solved my extreme nearsightedness and astigmatism. The works cost me about $4400 plus doc fees. If you apply with Care Credit, your APR is 0% until the balance is paid off, as long as each payment is on time. Umm... I would NOT go through this website, they scream fakers louder than a nun on rice (??). Love your blog. It gets me through the day. Check mine out sometime, and keep up the good (though poopily graphic) work!!
One of my clients is an eye doctor that performs this procedure. Keep in mind that it will only last you 10 years.
Only 10 years?? I was considering doing that too, but if it's only going to last 10 years, i'm not wasting 4 large on it....
Talia, thanks so much! I am sickeningly nearsighted and have a mild astigmatism in my right eye.
Miss E, that's the first I've ever heard of an expiration on this surgery. Now I assume that doesn't mean that 10 years from the date of my surgery, my vision would suddenly degrade horribly. I'm sure my vision would simply naturally get worse as I age anyway.
And Some Girl, I don't know--for me, 10 good years of not fucking around with glasses or contacts would be worth it. Hopefully in 10 years, some other sort of procedure will come along that will be more permanent.
My doc said it would last until I got older, 50-ish, because that's when our eyes start really degrading, or some happy crap like that.... not 10 years tho, or I wouldn't have spent 6K!!
Heck I way go for it! Besides in 10 years you'll be what... 42 and probably need bi-focals in which lasik cant even correct!
