Christmas on the Farm

Christmas on the farm in North Dakota is walking up to the front door of your mom's house and seeing a full spinal column from a deer in the front yard. Dogs drag in the most interesting things.

Kia Ora (Hello) & Happy New Year from a blogger down under in New Zealand. You will have to teach them to bring them home when they are still alive & then give them the bones !!! Hope you had a good one.

Twasn't the first Christmas there was a deer spine in the front yard. Happens after every hunting season. At least I get to reap the rewards of deer sausage to haul home without the effort of hunting. I only dread the inevitable day it will be a human spine they drag into the yard. But dogs will be dogs, and neighbors will have tempers and rifles. Such is life in the frigid tundra. Happy New Year from Minnesota (and North Dakota).

This reminds me of the time I was delivering someone's newspaper in Cando, and I ran into the garage door in the dark, only to run directly into a deer carcass hanging from the ceiling. There were several of them dangling along the side of the car, and I had to weave between them to get to the house door. It was kind of creepy at 6:00 am, but not really weird.
